An accomplished banking executive, trusted legal counsel, and community champion, Charles Bowman brings a wealth of diverse leadership experience to his work as a MyNextSeason Advisor. Taking a thoughtful and empathetic approach, Charles empowers his clients to examine their talents through a new lens, define their own success, and realize the powerful new beginning their next season offers.
In 2022, Charles retired from his position as President of Bank of America for North Carolina, where he was an integral leader in the institution’s growth and innovative evolution. During his 26-year career at the bank, he held a variety of critical roles, including Global Compliance Executive and Associate General Counsel. He also led Global Trust Services, State Government Relations, Supplier Management, Regulatory Remediation Strategy and Business/Community Engagement.
From 2022–24, Charles served as Executive in Residence at UNC Charlotte, advising senior leaders on community-based programs. Also during that time, he chaired the Greater Charlotte YMCA and was a Board Member of the North Carolina Railroad. In 2024, Charles received the Order of the Long Leaf Pine, the highest civilian honor granted by the North Carolina Governor.
Prior to joining Bank of America, Charles practiced law in Charlotte and was the Associate Director of what is now the Morehead-Cain Foundation at UNC-Chapel Hill.
Charles continues to drive progress in the region as a trustee of the Metropolitan Public Transit Authority, as chair of the NC Partnership for Children and as a member of the Atrium Health Board. He also recently became an Advisory Member of the Home Trust Bank Board in Asheville, NC.
Charles holds a JD from the UNC School of Law, an MA in Public Policy Analysis from Duke University, and a BA in American Studies from UNC-Chapel Hill. He and his wife, Mary, live in Charlotte and have two adult sons.
