After more than twenty years as an executive with Bank of America and ten years as an executive coach and management consultant for leaders of large multinational corporations, Richard Downen now uses his extensive experience as an Advisor for My Next Season. Dick supports executives in career transition, ensuring they land well in their next desired pursuit. His wealth of business experience has given him valuable insight into many issues faced by today’s executives, and he has integrated this knowledge into his advising.
While at Bank of America, Dick held leadership roles in many areas of the business, from directing large corporate subsidiaries as their President, to holding key positions in capital markets, risk management, and contingency planning. Transitioning from his role as the Chief Administrative Executive of Wealth Management for Bank of America, Dick applied his business knowledge and experience to his second career as an executive coach, partnering with C-suite executives and senior managers of Fortune 500 companies. As a My Next Season Advisor, Dick delivers a highly personalized client experience, enhanced by the wisdom gained through his own career transition.
Dick has served a variety of philanthropic organizations, sitting on several not-for-profit boards and leading numerous committees. Most recently, Dick served two terms on the Advisory Board of the Hankamer School of Business at his alma mater, Baylor University. Dick and his wife Bonnie were also co-presidents of the Elon University Parents Council, where he also served as the Chairman of the Development Committee for the Board of Visitors. Dick and Bonnie have three grown children and currently reside in Charlotte, North Carolina.
