At Morgan Stanley, Paul led the modernization and restructuring of the firm’s finance function as Deputy Chief Financial Officer. He transformed technology, processes, responsibilities, and roles for more than 3,000 professionals. Paul also helped guide the firm through the Global Financial Crisis as Global Controller and Chief Accounting Officer. His governance experience included serving on the Board of Morgan Stanley Holdings, LLC and as a Board Member and Chair of the Audit Committee for Morgan Stanley Europe Holding SE.
Earlier in his career, Paul held C-level roles at Credit Suisse and served as National Managing Partner of Deloitte & Touche’s Banking and Finance practice. He began his career at KPMG, where he rose to become Senior Client Service and Audit Partner for the firm’s largest financial services client, and Segment Leader for its largest service practice.
Paul currently serves as an Independent Director of the Toronto-Dominion Bank Group and as a member of both the Audit and Risk Committees. Additionally, he is Lead Independent Director on TDBG’s US subsidiaries, including TD Group US Holdings LLC, TD Bank US Holding Company and TD Bank, National Association, where he chairs the Board’s Risk and Corporate Governance Committees and is a member of the Audit Committees. Paul is also a member of the Board of Trustees and Finance Committee at his alma mater, St. John’s University, where he earned a BS in Accounting. Paul lives in New Vernon, New Jersey, with his wife, Theresa, and shares a love of rescue dogs with his family.
