With more than 30 years of experience in the transportation industry, Lauren is an influential voice in maritime safety, policy, and regulation. She is currently the CEO of Strong Port Strategies, a leading transportation consulting firm. Previously, she advised the US government on maritime and supply chain-related issues as President of the National Association of Waterfront Employers and Executive Director for the National Maritime Safety Association, guiding each organization through the immense challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2019, Lauren retired from the Senior Executive Service in the US Department of Transportationโs Maritime Administration. She led four national programs and ten field offices, including a $2B national port infrastructure modernization program. Previously, she served as Senior Director for Business Development at Port Canaveral.
Lauren has served as a board member of the Department of Transportationโs National Advisory Committee on Travel and Transportation Infrastructure, as well as the Departmentโs Innovation Council. She is also a former leader of the Maritime Transportation System National Advisory Committee.
Lauren holds a BS from Niagara University and several professional certifications, including an Executive Certificate in Leadership Coaching from Georgetown University. She serves on the East Coast Zoological Society Board of Directors and enthusiastically supports the Brevard Zooโs Aquarium and Conservation Project. She and her husband live in Merritt Island, Florida, and enjoy traveling and visiting their family in Florida, England, Australia, and New Zealand.
