Geri Thomas is a seasoned human resources executive who has spent her career advocating for diversity and inclusion at all levels. As a MyNextSeason Advisor, she is a dedicated coach who leverages inspirational leadership and deep empathy to counsel others to success. Her open, engaging style and personal honesty enable her to establish trust with her clients and motivate them to act.

Before joining MyNextSeason, Geri served at Bank of America for more than 40 years, culminating as Georgia State President and Chief Diversity Officer. As president, she drove business integration opportunities statewide to grow market share and deliver stellar service to individuals, companies, and institutional investors. She oversaw the company’s corporate social responsibility strategy in Georgia, including philanthropic grants, community development lending and investing, and volunteerism.

After her retirement from Bank of America, Geri founded GPT Consultants, partnering with leading organizations to provide strategic vision and thought leadership in global human resources, diversity and inclusion, and staffing.

Geri earned a BS from the Andrew Young School of Public Policy at Georgia State University and continues to serve her alma mater as a Trustee Emerita of the Georgia State University Foundation board and member of the J. Mack Robinson School of Business advisory board. As a board member of RedefinED Atlanta, she also works to ensure every K–12 student in Atlanta receives a great education.

Geri has been consistently named among the 100 most influential Atlantans. She is a past board member of the Executive Leadership Council, the preeminent membership organization driving the advancement of black leaders globally; the Woodruff Arts Center; and the metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce. She is on the Board of Councilors at the Carter Center and a lifetime member, deaconess, and trustee of Beulah Missionary Baptist Church.
