An accomplished banking executive, trusted legal counsel, and community champion, Charles Bowman brings a wealth of diverse leadership experience to his work as a MyNextSeason Advisor. Taking a thoughtful and empathetic approach, Charles empowers his clients to examine their talents through a new lens, define their own success, and realize the powerful new beginning their next season offers.

In 2022, Charles retired from his position as President of Bank of America for North Carolina, where he was an integral leader in the institution’s growth and innovative evolution. During his 25-year career at the bank, Charles held a variety of critical roles, including Associate General Counsel, Business Finance Executive, Director of State Government Relations, Regulatory Strategies Executive, Enterprise Business and Community Engagement Executive, and Global Compliance Executive.

Prior to joining Bank of America, Charles practiced law in Charlotte and was the Associate Director of what is now the Morehead-Cain Foundation, an organization that supports young leaders at UNC Chapel Hill.

In 2024, Charles was honored with the Order of the Long Leaf Pine—the highest award for state service granted by the Office of the Governor of North Carolina. Charles continues to drive progress in the region as an Executive in Residence at UNC Charlotte, providing guidance as the university conducts influential research and develops valuable community-based programs.

Charles also currently serves on the Boards of Atrium Health, the North Carolina Partnership for Children, Greater Charlotte YMCA, the City of Charlotte Arts and Culture Committee, and the North Carolina Railroad.

He holds a JD from the North Carolina School of Law, an MA in Public Policy Analysis from Duke University Sanford School of Public Policy, and a BA in American Studies from UNC Chapel Hill. Charles and his wife Mary live in Charlotte and have two adult sons.
