Buck de Wolf is a seasoned global legal executive who brings a steady, practical perspective to senior leaders navigating complexity, transition, and high-stakes decision-making. Drawing on decades of experience across private practice and Fortune 100 leadership roles, Buck partners with clients to assist them in thinking clearly about inflection points in their careers, in assessing risk and opportunity, and in making intentional choices about what comes next.
Buck spent nearly two decades at GE, where he held senior legal leadership roles during a period of historic transformation. Most recently, he played a central role in GE’s separation into three independent public companies, helping to shape legal strategy and ensure continuity through the spinoffs of GE HealthCare, GE Vernova, and GE Aerospace. In parallel, he led a global legal and IP organization supporting more than $120B in business operations across 180 countries.
As Vice President and Chief IP Counsel for GE Corporate, Buck oversaw enterprise-wide IP strategy and litigation, with responsibilities that expanded over time to include privacy, cyberlaw, environmental health and safety, and corporate sourcing. Earlier, as General Counsel for GE Global Research, he supported a worldwide network of research centers and created GE’s crown jewel IP protection program to safeguard business-critical, sensitive innovation.
Prior to GE, Buck was a Partner at Howrey Simon Arnold & White, where he helped build the firm’s California presence and advised clients on complex commercial and IP matters. He began his legal career clerking for the Honorable S. Martin Teel Jr. of the US Bankruptcy Court for District of Columbia.
Buck holds a JD from Boston College Law School and a BA in Economics from Middlebury College. Buck and his wife have three adult children and live in Saratoga Springs, New York, where he enjoys staying active.
