As an Advisor for MyNextSeason, Paul Wirth leverages 40 years of experience in public accounting and corporate executive leadership, lending him a unique perspective on problem solving, crisis management, and driving fundamental change. Prior to his retirement from Morgan Stanley in 2020, Paul led the restructuring and modernization of the firm’s finance function as Deputy Chief Financial Officer. In that role, he transformed technology, processes, responsibilities, and leadership roles for more than 3,000 professionals, working closely with the Board Audit Committee and serving on multiple high-level strategy teams. Paul additionally helped guide the firm through the 2008 financial crisis as Global Controller and Chief Accounting Officer. He has served on the boards of Morgan Stanley Holdings, LLC and as a Board Member and Chairman of the Audit Committee for Morgan Stanley Europe Holding SE.

Previously, Paul held C-level roles at Credit Suisse and served as national Managing Partner of Deloitte & Touche’s Banking and Finance practice. He began his career at KPMG where he rose to become Senior Client Service and Audit Partner for the firm’s largest financial services client, and Segment Leader for its largest service practice.

Paul recently joined the Board of Trustees for the Goldman Sachs Trust and Goldman Sachs Variable Insurance Trust, which oversee nearly all of the company’s mutual funds. He is also a member of the St. John’s University Board of Governors, where he earned a BS in Accounting. A founding member of Morgan Stanley’s disability network, Paul has been an advisory board member of ARC Essex County and enjoys volunteering as a Special Olympics coach for his son’s softball team. Paul lives in Vernon, New Jersey, with his wife, Theresa, and shares a love of rescue dogs with his whole family.
