As Executive Vice President of Technology, Data & Analytics, Claims, and Operations at The Hartford, Bill led a workforce of approximately 18,000 professionals with an operating budget of $2.4B. With responsibility for $400M annually in technology investments, he increased digital capabilities across all business units and established robust AI and data & analytics functions that enhanced risk management, growth, and operational processes. Dedicated to mentoring young professionals, especially high-potential women and minorities, he served as executive sponsor to The Hartford’s Professional Women’s and Black Insurance Professional Networks.
Previously, Bill evolved the strategic direction of EXL and drove dramatic growth as President of Global Client Services. His earliest roles included EVP of Technology and Operations for The Travelers Companies and Partner at Accenture.
Bill has gained deep governance and coaching experience as an active board member and corporate advisor. He currently serves on the board of Foundation Risk Partners and Bamboo. He formerly served as a board member for Duck Creek Technologies and Aviva Canada. Bill is an advisor to Cytora and CoverForce, as well as the UAlbany School of Engineering.
Bill earned a BS in Computer Science from SUNY Albany. He and his wife Maria have two adult daughters with whom they love to spend time skiing, golfing, and hiking.
