John Thiel is a board member, entrepreneur, and visionary financial services leader whose deep caring and understanding of people has guided his career and next season success. Having navigated his own transition after leading an iconic investment firm, John is in a unique position to anticipate and understand the needs, concerns, and goals of clients as they chart a new and fulfilling future.

John recently co-founded and serves as Executive Chair of Indivisible Partners, a privately-owned, independent financial advisory firm that is redefining the client/advisor experience. John also serves on the boards of Franklin Resources, Inc. and Cohen & Steers Income Opportunities REIT.

Before joining MyNextSeason, John was Head of Wealth Management at Merrill Lynch where he steered the firm through a period of unprecedented change, including the acquisition by Bank of America. Keeping his focus on people, John managed complex relationships, mobilized a global workforce, and reestablished trust with clients and the public following the financial crisis—all while driving dramatic business growth. John then served as Vice Chairman of Global Wealth and Investment Management before retiring from Merrill Lynch.

A longtime advocate for curing cancer, John serves on the board of the V Foundation for Cancer Research and chairs an annual event focused on eliminating healthcare disparities for African Americans. John is also proud to support his alma mater as a Florida State University Foundation Trustee.

John is a frequent speaker, sharing insights on leadership, creating client trust, and responding to changing financial needs in a shifting environment. John and his wife, Karen, live in Florida and have three adult children.
