After nearly four decades serving in a broad range of talent and HR leadership roles, Alan Booth has a deep understanding of the complex transitions that people face over the course of their careers. As an Executive Advisor with MyNextSeason, Alan applies his experience and coaching skills to guide clients through a comprehensive process of discernment, to frame and create a rewarding and successful next season.
As a Partner at Deloitte Canada for more than 14 years, Alan led various innovations in learning and development, including participating in the creation of Deloitte University, an innovative leadership development concept. He collaborated broadly to drive expansion of DU and related programming globally, as well as advising on leadership development matters for partners and clients.
Prior to his role at Deloitte, Alan held several HR executive positions with major financial organizations such as the Bank of Nova Scotia, where he led teams in its Employee and Labour Relations and Training and Development groups, and Arthur Andersen where he led the integration of the Canadian workforce into Deloitte.
Alan currently serves on the board of Progress Place, a unique non-profit organization that provides psychosocial rehabilitation for those living with mental illness. He previously served for more than two decades as a board member of the Kiwanis Music Festival of Greater Toronto, the largest and oldest competitive festival of its type in the country, promoting achievement in the performing arts for children.
Alan holds a BA in English from the University of Toronto and an MBA from York University. He completed his professional coach training at the Institute for Transformational Leadership at Georgetown University in Washington, DC, and holds a Professional Certified Coach designation from the International Coaching Federation. Fluent in French and an avid musician, Alan lives with his wife Diane in Whitby, Ontario, and together they have three grown children.
